Maharishi Dayanand, the great torch bearer of Indian Renaissance of 19th Century, propounded a national system of education in his immortal creation the 'Satyarth Prakash'. Education, according to him, is the main potent tool for bringing about national reconstruction and eradication of social evils like untouchability, economic inequality and superstitions To propagate the thoughts and teachings of Maharishi Dayanand. D.A.V movement was founded in 1886, at Lahore, in the form of D.A.V School. Soon a chain of D.A.V. Institutions known for their enviable standards and programme of education with moral and religious concept as an integral part, spread all over the country. Established in 2000 D.A.V. Assandh is just a link in the long chain of D.A.V. Schools all over the country. It functions directly under the control of D.A.V College Managing Committee, New Delhi which has among its member distinguished educationists and public men of eminence from various walks of life. At present 1200 students are receiving quality education in the school. D.A.V. Public School is a Senior Secondary School and is affiliated to C.B.S.E., New Delhi up to 10+2 Level. It is an English Medium, Co-educational School providing excellent facilities for games and sports. Sh. Puunal Suri, President and Sh. Ajay Suri Gen. Secretary, D.A.V. College Managing Committee are on the helm of the affairs. A local committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Justice Pritam Pal (Vice President D.A.V. CMC, New Delhi). Sh. Pardeep Goyal (President, Sanatan Dharam Sewa Samiti) is the Vice Chairman school LMC, Sh. Nanak Chand Ji, Manager of school and Mr. S.S. Mann Principal of the school is working as Member Secretary of the L.M.C.
